A Maine single-member LLC operating agreement is an internal document that sets forth the operational procedures, finances, and management of a limited liability company owned by a sole proprietor. Maine is one of five states that require LLCs to implement an operating agreement. In addition to formally establishing the rights and responsibilities of the owner, the document also creates a legal separation between the owner’s assets and those of the company. It is highly recommended that the agreement is signed in the presence of a notary public since the document only has one signatory.
